Myfuture.com Strategic Consulting
For many students, parents, and counselors, the spring and summer months before senior year are filled with anxiety. This is the time when students have to decide what to do after high school. The glut of assessments, search tools, and personal consultants currently available to assist youth in the post-high school career planning tend to be largely deficient in scope.
Objective
A prominent goal of our U.S. Government client is to present unbiased, detailed information on civilian, college, and military career options to young adults in one comprehensive website. More specifically, this site was developed to accomplish the goal of increasing awareness and factual knowledge of all career options through self-discovery.
Approach
We oversaw development of the conceptual framework for integrating civilian, college, and military career content within the site. Fors Marsh Group also developed recommendations for the website and tested site concepts with potential users while supplementing and updating absent and antiquated information. Fors Marsh Group also evaluated the factor structures of the different modules and provided recommendations as to how to most effectively present the information.
Outcome
The new Myfuture.com site launched March 2010. Research (experimental evaluation and focus groups) conducted by Fors Marsh Group indicates the website has accomplished its goal of increasing awareness and factual knowledge of civilian, college, and military careers through self-discovery.
