Dr. Katherine Ely has a research background in organizational recruitment, leadership development, and training evaluation, with a focus on applications within the Department of Defense. Since joining Fors Marsh Group in 2010, Katherine has played a lead role in multiple research efforts, including overseeing large-scale survey projects and contributing to the design and analysis of program evaluation efforts.
Her current research projects focus primarily on organizational recruitment, with an emphasis on understanding key drivers of organizational attraction across different target markets. Additionally she has been involved in the development and evaluation of training materials, including classroom instruction, Web-based training, and job aids.
Prior to joining Fors Marsh Group, Katherine was a research scientist at the Advanced Distributed Learning Co-Laboratory, where she conducted research on ways to increase effectiveness and efficiencies of Web-based instruction. Katherine has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed articles on training and development, including articles appearing in Psychological Bulletin, Journal of Applied Psychology, The Leadership Quarterly, and Military Psychology.
Katherine received her Ph.D. in psychology from George Mason University and her B.A. in psychology from the College of William & Mary.
