For many people, the holiday season is synonymous with giving thanks, spreading joy, and sharing what we have with others.  Charitable giving is one way that Fors Marsh Group (FMG) gives back to our local community.  

Our annual Thanksgiving food drive and end-of-year toy drive are both parts of a company-wide effort dating back to 2015.  This year, the Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Committee was proud to support these efforts by sponsoring FMG’s Toys for Tots toy drive.  We gratefully contributed an additional $2,500 to match our staff’s generous donations.  

Part of the D&I Committee’s purpose is to encourage a diverse and inclusive environment at work, and to help FMG achieve its mission to put people first.  Through our support of the Toys for Tots toy drive, the D&I Committee acknowledges our place in a larger community where others do not have the same economic resources and regularly go without things that so many of us just take for granted. 

In the Washington, D.C. metro area alone, and with support of many caring individuals and organizations, Toys for Tots distributed toys to 43,507 children in need. Spreading some cheer and hope by giving toys to underserved members of our community during the holiday season is just one small, but important, way that we can support the community in which we are privileged to work and live.

Jasmine Wheeler, Ph.D., Co-Chair

jasmine wheeler headshotAs the co-chair for FMG's Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Committee, Dr. Jasmine Wheeler leads FMG's efforts to identify, set, communicate, and implement diversity and inclusion goals and programs. Dr. Wheeler is also a researcher on the Military Recruiting Research team, where she supports research that examines the individual, social, and environmental factors that drive interest in military service on behalf of the Department of Defense (DoD). Dr. Wheeler has over seven years of experience in qualitative/quantitative research methodology, survey design, project management, and proposal development.

Shelbi Hall, Co-Chair

jasmine wheeler headshotAs the co-chair for FMG's Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Committee, Shelbi Hall leads FMG's efforts to identify, set, communicate, and implement diversity and inclusion goals and programs. Joining FMG in 2018, Shelbi serves a Human Resources Generalist to assist employees during their career at FMG. She reinforces policies and procedures as well as assists in employee relations, performance management, training and development, and benefits and compensation. 

 

Shardia Hunter, Vice-Chair

As the vice-chair for FMG's Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Committee, Shardia Hunter supports FMG's efforts to identify, set, communicate, and implement diversity and inclusion goals and programs. Shardia joined FMG in February 2018 as Administrative Coordinator, then moved to FMG's Legal and Contracts department. Currently she serves as Contracts Specialist performing a variety of acquisition and contract management-related activities. She corresponds with vendors and subcontractors, tracks federal contracts, and administers the procurement and compliance process for FMG purchasing.

Lane Destro, Vice-Chair

jasmine wheeler headshotAs the vice-chair for FMG's Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Committee, Lane Destro supports FMG's efforts to identify, set, communicate, and implement diversity and inclusion goals and programs. Dr. Destro has over four years of professional research and consulting experience for government, private sector, academic, and non-profit clients, including for the Department of Defense’s Joint Advertising, Market Research & Studies (JAMRS).
