IRS Awards National Contract to Fors Marsh Group to Improve Taxpayer Debt Collection Programs

Fors Marsh Group (FMG) has partnered with Deloitte to support the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Private Debt Collection (PDC) program. This is a congressionally mandated effort tasked to recover billions of dollars in inactive taxpayer debt.

Through this partnership, FMG will activate experts in policy evaluation, data science and behavior change to reduce the program’s costs and increase the program’s effectiveness.

“With an important program like PDC, integrating evidenced based practices and rigorous evaluation at every point is crucial,” said Brian Griepentrog, Senior Vice President, Research. “We understand the opportunities and challenges in implementing these organizational change efforts and have tremendous past experience to draw upon. This experience tells us that taxpayer compliance is a complex topic that requires innovation, discipline, and transparency. As we currently do with other IRS projects, such as predicting accurate wages in industries with significant cash-based transactions and creating more user-friendly tax forms, we look forward to working with the IRS to help consumers understand and meet their tax responsibilities.”
