Fors Marsh Group (FMG) is committed to making decisions that generate growth and create impact for our employees, clients, and communities. As a Certified B Corporation, we believe we can create sustainable, positive change by partnering with local, mission-aligned organizations in many different ways.

To build on this effort, FMG partnered with Year Up National Capital Region (NCR). Year Up is a non-profit organization dedicated to closing the opportunity divide—the gap between access to careers and talented individuals in underserved communities. This year, FMG interviewed and hired three Year Up intern candidates for positions in information technology (IT), human resources (HR), and recruiting.

“The Fors Marsh Group HR team is dedicated to hiring top talent to join our growing organization by prospecting for talent through several different channels. FMG’s partnership with Year Up is a great example of how we accomplish this mission,” said Christina Daugherty, Director of HR. “We make it a priority to partner with organizations like Year Up, whose programs align with our core values and B Corp status. I look forward to the continued success of these young employees and our partnership with Year Up.”

“The Fors Marsh Group IT team needs talented, motivated, and dedicated employees if we are going to continue to provide the high level of service necessary for a great company to thrive,” said Jason Marsh, Vice President of Operations. “In the Year Up program, we have been lucky enough to find a partner who provides the training that allows these junior-level employees to step in and have an immediate positive impact on our team and the FMG employees we support.”

Year Up interns are an important part of how we achieve our mission. From recruiting new staff to supporting our growing client base to creating, securing, and managing FMG’s IT infrastructure, Year Up interns are applying skills they have learned through the program to further our growth and support FMG as we expand into new markets. During their time at FMG, Year Up interns will gain skills, experience, and support to empower them to reach their potential in their professional careers.

“People at FMG truly honor their core values,” said Jahmea Robinson, HR Year Up intern. “The culture is very collaborative, engaging, inspiring, and flexible. While interning as a Human Resources Associate, I’m looking forward to learning all the necessary skills to apply in both recruitment and HR.”

“FMG has a great culture and has a lot to offer in terms of learning,” said Abyalew Alemu, IT Year Up intern. “Seeing everyone’s kindness and dedication makes me feel welcome and driven to learn and succeed here. I look forward to gaining strong professional skills, learning new technologies, and gaining confidence in my career direction during my time at FMG.”
