Fors Marsh Group Supports Department of Defense’s Report on Suicide in the Military
On October 1, the Department of Defense (DOD) released its second Annual Suicide Report (ASR). Fors Marsh Group (FMG), in partnership with the Defense Suicide Prevention Office (DSPO), conducted data analysis and provided content support for the Calendar Year (CY) 2019 ASR that will be used to improve DOD-wide efforts in suicide prevention among Service members. The Department’s ASR serves as the official source of annual suicide counts and unadjusted rates for DOD and a means by which to increase transparency and accountability for DOD efforts toward the prevention of suicide.
“FMG is committed to conducting research that contributes to DOD’s work to reduce, if not eliminate, suicide in the military community. We’re proud to leverage our data analysis and research support expertise to better understand the complexities surrounding suicide and potential areas for intervention,” said Laura Severance, Director of Military Health and Wellbeing Research at FMG.
FMG’s experts have a robust knowledge of the complex issues related to suicide, a range of research methodologies and advanced statistical techniques across disciplines, as well as the necessary depth of experience working with relevant DOD stakeholders.
