Fors Marsh Group Announces Full Coverage for Any Employee Travel Required to Seek Out-of-State Abortion Care in Response to Roe v. Wade Overturn
Effective immediately, Fors Marsh Group (FMG) will pay for the travel expenses for employees seeking abortions in states where abortions have been banned. During a company all-hands meeting today, Ben Garthwaite, our CEO, announced that travel expenses for employees seeking abortions in states where abortions have been banned will be covered in full. This comes at a time when the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization U.S. Supreme Court decision overturns the Roe v. Wade decision that preempted state restrictions on abortion.
FMG’s health care plan has always covered abortions and will continue to do so for its just under 400 employee workforce. Although 327 employees are currently located in “safe” states, there are employees residing in trigger law states and states that are likely to ban or restrict abortions. The new travel expense policy was put in place as a commitment to our people and for those employees in restrictive states who need abortions and for minors seeking gender affirmation/confirmation care.
