Evaluating the E-Cigarette and Harm Reduction Communication Environment

E-cigarettes entered the U.S. market in 2006 and have quickly risen in popularity among both adults and youth. While some individuals in the public health space advocate their potential as a safer alternative to smoking combustible cigarettes for adults, others express concern about the unknown long-term health effects of e-cigarettes as well as their problematic popularity among youth.

In this white paper, Fors Marsh Group health experts explore the current information landscape around e-cigarettes and harm reduction via two perspectives: public health institutions and the general public including some focus groups we conducted with adults smokers who had a quit attempt in the past year.
