Preparing for Election Day 2020

The 2020 U.S. General Election is fast approaching and with it comes a unique set of challenges. At Fors Marsh Group (FMG), improving U.S. elections and the electoral process is integral to our mission of making an impact on the world. However, actions to limit the spread of COVID-19 pose significant challenges to Americans’ ability to vote.

To protect this right, election officials have established alternatives for administering elections in ways that provide access to the ballot while ensuring peoples’ health and safety.

The women and men across the nation who administer our elections are looking for your help in preparing for the big day as well.

Three ways you can prepare for election day:

  1. Verify your voter registration: make sure your registration is active and updated if you are a new voter or new to your community;
  2. Request a mail ballot NOW: help “flatten the curve” on requests and ensure you receive your ballot in time.
  3. Volunteer as a pollworker: with so many regular pollworkers (many of whom are older) stepping back because of COVID-19, state and localities are looking for help in staffing the polls this fall.

Election Day is always a big deal, especially in presidential years; but COVID-19, and associated challenges, have made preparation and preparedness more vital than ever.

Do your part to make sure the process works smoothly—for yourself, your neighbors and the people who run elections in your community.
